LETTER OF THE WEEK
I WAS delighted to read your news item (1 October) about the part-Shetland who is still going strong at the age of 38, followed by the veteran special (8 October).
My horse is 27 and we still compete in dressage, albeit at unaffiliated prelim level. But as 60 is supposed to be the new 40 for humans, should the age for competing veterans be amended?
Obviously I think my horse is wonderful, but he’s not going to look as good as a 15-year-old veteran.
Therefore, is this something other disciplines could look into? Fiona
