Obituaries for John Parker and Rebecca Bastiman

THE family of late Aintree chair Rose Paterson has formed a suicide prevention charity in her memory.

The Rose Paterson Trust was launched on the day of the 2021 Grand National (10 April) at the racecourse.

Mrs Paterson was also inducted as an Aintree legend, when a plaque bearing her name was unveiled in the hall of fame.

Her husband Owen Paterson, MP for North Shropshire, paid tribute to his late wife and added that money raised will be put towards projects and charities they hope will prevent suicide “and might just save that one family”.
