“I never expected it,” said Helen, who shows alongside her sister, Jamie.

Nine-year-old Albert, who is by Linksbury Solitaire out of Linksbury Royal Charm, was bought from Neil Beaumont of the Dawthorne Stud. Albert has won several novice accolades, including at the 2019 BSPS Heritage championships.

“The plan was for me to do a bit with Albert and then he’d go back to Neil, but I just couldn’t part with him,” said Helen. “He was ridden away when he was a six-yearold, and he’s technically still a novice but he’s ready for open classes now. HOYS is the one I’d like to get him to. He’s a real kind-hearted pony.”
