Fittipaldi breezes to the top
FITTIPALDI, another Fürstenball offspring in the ribbons, took the advanced medium qualifier. Dianne Breeze’s nine-year-old gelding impressed at his first show back after a winter of training.
“We had a few lessons with
Carl Hester and we’ve worked on the changes,” said Dianne, an artist and trainer. “Fitti can be spooky, but he seems better as he moves upwards and is more on the aids. Hopefully, we’ll try a PSG by the end of the year.”
Vancouver LG scored a convincing medium double at his first attempt at the level. Lauren Williamson, who co-owns the former breeding stallion with LG Sporthorses, has scaled back her string to concentrate on teaching and bringing the nine-year-old gelding up through the grades.
“Van learnt his changes over lockdown and we plan to take him out soon at advanced medium,” added Lauren, who trains with Sarah Probin and Stephen Clarke.
“He was shocked at being asked to do more in the test, but he was happy to be out. Stephen thinks he’ll go to grand prix and he’s the boss – we just do as we’re told!”
