A BETTER WORK-LIFE BALANCE

-

SEVEN-YEAR-OLD gelding Ryans Fancy landed the intermediate for Shropshire-based Caroline Robinson under daughter Immy Robinson at the Bedale meeting at Hornby Castle, Yorkshire.

The pointing family picked up the enthusiastic gelding from the sales last summer, after which he won his restricted at Bishop’s Court before running again at Revesby Park when the season resumed after the second lockdown.

“The track didn’t suit him at all at Revesby Park and he never travelled with me, so we were really pleased that he’s bounced back to the horse we know he is today,” said Immy. “He’s got a great attitude, loves the game and is very competitive. At home he’s pretty straightforward and loves life, which makes it a pleasure.” Immy is enjoying a new routine after moving back to Shropshire. “I came back up to Shropshire from London where my work was and have decided to stay now that my work is more flexible,” said Immy, who works full-time for a charity. “I can do my work from anywhere and it means I can ride out every day which makes balancing the two much easier.

“It’s a much better quality of life being able to walk out of the front door and go for a stroll in the countryside at lunchtime and do the horses before work.”

Ryans Fancy is now qualified for both the intermediate and restricted finals.
