Biddick claims a brace

-

JOCKEY Will Biddick enjoyed a successful day when landing a brace of wins at the Quantock meeting. His first win came in the hunt members’ with seven-year-old gelding Florrie Webb for The Hot Toddie Partnership. The gelding was making his debut run on British soil after a few runs in Ireland.

“We bought him off Henry de Bromhead in December as a maiden,” said Will.

“He ran a few times and was unlucky in an Irish point-to-point as a four-year-old when he fell at the last when winning and then was placed over hurdles and fences. He knows his job, but has probably appreciated a change of scenery and coming back to pointing again. We’ll run him a few more times this season as he likes the better ground.”

Six-year-old gelding Famous Clermont completed his double when winning the Print Concern restricted for Christopher Barber, who also had a win in The Jockey Club maiden for mares and fillies with five-year-old Milan gelding Kindofabigdeal for The Boundary Stables Partnership.

“He’s a really nice horse,” said Will of Famous Clermont. “He’s got a lot of cruising speed and travels really strong. He’s roughed off now and they’ll probably look at him for an intermediate next year and qualify for one of the finals.”
