NEW CAREER TAKES OFF

-

A DRESSAGE pony who has turned her hoof to eventing impressed her connections when heading a BE90 section at Aspen Cooling Ltd Solihull (1) with Georgina Holland.

Suzanne Ross’ Tangaluna (pictured), who has competed to British Dressage medium level with Georgina’s employer Colina Pickles, finished on her dressage score of 22.

“She was going to be sold as a dressage pony last year, but Colina suggested I try her over some jumps to see how she took to it and she was a natural,” said Georgina of the 14.2hh mare.

Also at Solihull, Georgie Hadaway nailed her first attempt at affiliated eventing when she headed the under-18 BE90open aboard Fiona Spencer’s Cynheidrefawr Ceidrych (George).

“We had won our first unaffiliated event two weeks previously, so I knew we were capable of a good result, but to win came as quite a shock,” admitted Georgie, 16, who took on the ride on the 14.2hh gelding after a chance encounter with his owner at a New Year’s Eve party.
