Perseverance pays

TRADITIONAL cob Blackhall Norbert rewarded Victoria Turner for her perseverance, winning the prelim 14 qualifier.

“Norbert was bought as a 40th birthday present for my mum, for hacking and a bit of dressage, but she came off him twice and hasn’t ridden him since,” said Victoria of the “sharp and sensitive” 11-yearold gelding. “He has taken a long time to mature, but in the past six months he has finally become more consistent in his work.

“Making progress has required so much patience, along with giving Norbert lots of walk breaks so he can process what I’m teaching him,” she added. “He has qualified for the summer regionals in two outings, which makes all the hard work worthwhile.”
