Chadwick on a roll
Essex with Farmers and Union, High Easter, Essex
ALEX CHADWICK is enjoying his best season in the saddle to date, which was boosted by riding a treble at this meeting.
“I’ve had 17 winners so far this season – my previous best was six,” said Alex. “I’ve been quite lucky with getting spare rides, and being in form helps trainers to pick you to ride the spares.”
The rst of Alex’s three winners came aboard Fiddler Of Dooney in the PPORA club members’ conditions (level three) for trainer James Owen and owner Mrs J Owen.
“He’s a pleasure to ride and very straightforward,” said Alex. “Putting a visor on him this season has denitely helped him out as he used to run behind the bridle a bit, but this has made the dierence.”
A spare ride in the form of Salute The King for trainer Gerald Bailey and owners Martin Copley, Sandra Moore and Graham and Kathy Kirk in the maiden helped Alex to the second of his winners.
“[Trainer] Kelly Morgan helped get me the ride and again, he was very straightforward,” explained Alex. “He fell last time out but I don’t think that’s done him any harm, as it’s backed him up a little bit and he won on the bridle.”
Castle Trump completed Alex’s treble with a comfortable victory in the hunt members’ for trainer Rob Cundy and owner Charles Buckle.
“He’s a dude,” said Alex.
“They went so slowly and so
I just took it up after ve fences and that was that.”
Gerald Bailey also trained the winner of the intermediate, with
