THE BIG NEW TREND

Bright colours and geometric patterns have made a welcome return, with interesting textures such as tassels and contrasting trims. Inspiration is global, from the natural textures of the Balearic Islands to Cuba, with its palette of terracottas, deep yellows and browns. It’s easy to add vibrancy by building on this scheme with bold cushions, throws, colourful bedding and statement crockery.

PERSONAL FAVOURITE

I love our melamine tableware. The reactive glaze-style pieces come in a beautiful deep turquoise and the faux terracotta range with tiled patterns is a real talking point and reminds me of being in a hotter climate!

TOP TIPS

Modern melamine tableware has the look and feel of ceramic. Light and unbreakable, it comes in every colour and style, making it ideal for alfresco entertaining.

Invest in bold cushions (below) with contrasting patterns across a neutral background to add instant colour to a room.

Look for candleholders and lanterns with patterned glass or metal walls with cut-out designs that deflect light to create flickering patterns across your walls.
