WINDOW SHOPPING
The new range of Everest windows brings modern style, with enhanced Quiet Mark acoustic glass to create a peaceful, happy home
If you want to transform your home, new windows could reduce noise, improve energy efficiency and add instant kerb appeal. Today’s uPVC styles allow you to customise your look, be it contemporary or traditional, and fit in seamlessly with existing windows and bifold doors. Everest’s latest
Flush Casement uPVC windows, for instance, come in two brand-new, up-to-the-minute colours – Smooth Anthracite and Grey Cedar – which beautifully complement the streamlined flush design, plus a wide choice of other shades and finishes.
‘This new range of windows can create a completely different feel for your home,’ says Everest’s Jill McLintock. ‘They will also match with modern aluminium bifold doors, so you won’t have to fit aluminium window frames, which are more expensive.’
A good window fits perfectly into the structure of a property, and it’s the details that make it look just right. All Flush Casement windows feature Smoothweld technology to provide
near-invisible corner joints, giving the frames a flawless appearance. And they come with a choice of three handles – Classic, MonkeyTail or Tear Drop – and options for internal frame colours, so the inside of your home looks just as good as the outside.
As a brand leader in windows and doors, Everest is continually improving its products to make the most of technical advances. For excellent all-round performance, choose Everest double glazing; for unrivalled thermal efficiency, select triple glazing for all or just a selection of windows; and for brilliant noise-reducing qualities, the new Acoustic range is a fantastic, groundbreaking option.
Featuring a very thin polymer layer sandwiched between the panes, Everest’s Acoustic glass is specifically engineered to disrupt and absorb soundwaves and reduce noise pollution by up to 40dB, which means it can offer an additional 7dB on top of standard Everest double glazing’s sound reduction of 33dB. Traffic noise can be reduced to the equivalent of someone speaking in a library, so, for example, if a busy road is 20 metres from your living room, the Acoustic glazing will make it seem to be at least 80 metres away.
‘At Everest, exceptional soundproofing is all part of our heritage,’ adds Jill. ‘In fact, we’ve been installing secondary glazing to reduce noise since 1965 – you might even remember television personality Ted Moult demonstrating how it stood up against the noise of aircraft traffic at Stansted Airport in the 1980s.’ What’s more, the Everest Acoustic double and triple glazing is also designed to look smart, so the Low E coating is super-thin.
