Laundry baskets and his-and-hers basins

-

What could be more civilised than his and hers basins?

His and hers bathrooms perhaps! However, not many of us have space for that, so this is the next best thing – no more dancing around each other when you’re in a hurry, or waiting for your partner to finish cleaning their teeth when you want to take off your make-up.

Keith Alcock, product designer at Roper Rhodes, says: ‘Furniture is playing a much bigger role within bathroom design, as people become more aware of the benefits and flexibility it delivers – and with smaller homes, storage will remain a key priority into 2019 and beyond.

Perfect for making bathrooms of all sizes look and feel more spacious, a wall-hung basin unit will create a real focal point while providing versatile storage. There is a growing trend for double, his and hers basin units where space allows, creating a boutique hotel style that adds a sophisticated look of luxury.

In terms of colour, neutral tones in both matt and gloss finishes will endure – there is no sign of grey’s appeal waning! Soft, rounder shapes for sanitaryware are also very much in demand within contemporary bathroom design.’
