‘It’s important to take into account the colour of the natural light entering the room before choosing

a colour palette to decorate with,’ says artist and designer Anna Jacobs. ‘For example, if your window is north facing, the natural light entering the room will be colder and bluer and the room will also generally be darker. So, if you want to make

the space feel warm and welcoming, the best colours to use are in the pink, orange and yellow spectrum, as they will counteract

the cold blue light.’
