FIND THE BEST BERRY SHADES

-

‘Purple tones help boost creativity and problemsolving, while the colour red is thought to stimulate energy and confidence – so these warm berry shades are the perfect choice for creating a space of comfort and positivity,’ explains Abby Hesketh, paint and colour specialist at Graham & Brown. Here, she shares some ideas of how to introduce these delicious hues into your home: 1 In a small and cosy snug, these rich tones will absorb any available light to create a cocooning effect that’s both soothing and uplifting. Alternatively, the strength of these shades also means they’re perfect for bringing definition and interest to well-lit, vast or open-plan spaces. 2 Consider the light your room receives – north- and east-facing rooms will make reds appear deeper and more plum-like, whereas in southand west-facing rooms they will read a lot more vibrant and pink. 3 For a sophisticated scheme with a softer impact, go tonal. Introduce paler shades of pink throughout the room to gently lift even the deepest of burgundies, alongside soft neutrals such as taupe and greyed off-whites that have similar warm red undertones. 4 On the other hand, if you’re looking to accentuate and freshen up this palette, it’s all about contrast. Pair with pure white, adding in glacial shades of teal to create a scheme that feels opulent and temptingly luxurious.
