LOUISE PEARCE

Living by the sea is a dream for many of us. Friends of mine recently made that dream a reality by setting up home on the beautiful Pembrokeshire coast. The allure is obvious – wide open skies, fresh salty air, beaches and clifftops with panoramic views. It’s safe to say the pandemic has intensified the desire to move to the coast and sent many of us eyeing-up property in seaside spots around the country – me included! In celebration of the great British seaside – where many of us are also likely to be heading for our holidays this year – we’ve dedicated much of this issue to coastal living. We’ve a stunning collection of light-filled homes – everything from a spectacular barn-style new build to a micro home on the Isle of Skye. I’d be happy to live in any one of them. Even if you’re nowhere near the beach this summer, our Cool Coastal Style decorating story, page 20, offers plenty of inspiration to help you create that easy, breezy feel at home. Chances are, you’ve been busy decluttering your home this past year (although it’s amazing how soon everything creeps back…). If you’re after a gorgeous cupboard or cabinet to display some of your mostprized pieces or need somewhere to tidy away any remaining clutter, check out our Find The Best feature on page 50. I’ve got my eye on one of the dressers for our kitchen and a cabinet for our nearly refurbished bedroom – both areas of the home where you can never have too much storage, especially when it’s as attractive as this.
