HOW TO GROW

★ SEPTEMBER AND SPRING are both good times to plant hydrangeas.

★ IDEAL GROWING CONDITION is light shade.

★ ENRICH THE SOIL with well-rotted compost, plus soil conditioner or leafmould.

★ THE SURROUNDING SOIL should be at the same level as the surface of the rootball.

★ MULCH WITH BARK, but keep an area around the stem free of it.
