THE BATHROOM
A mirror-fronted wall cabinet is a practical solution in a tiny space. Choose an illuminated design for a good light and clear view.
Adjustable wall shelving gives you the option to chop and change (see left).
Slim wall cabinets with shallow shelves keep everything on view so unused bath accessories or cosmetics don’t accumulate at the back.
Wall-mounted furniture (see left) completely frees up the floor area to give a more spacious feel.
Fitted furniture optimises space, creating a sleek, co-ordinated look – and is low-maintenance with no hard-to-clean corners.
A countertop basin – as opposed to an integrated one – leaves more room for storage inside the vanity unit it stands on.
Units with a variety of shelves, cupboards and drawers allow you to display more decorative accessories, and hide other items away.
Opt for a dual-fuel towel rail that’s connected to the central heating and also has an electrical heating element to warm towels in summer when the heating is off.
Don’t rely on just one towel rail in a busy bathroom. Install wall-mounted rails by the basin, bath and shower to keep plenty of towels always to hand.
Tall units with a small footprint make the most of the vertical space available, but don’t take up much floor area.
Corner shelves can make good use of a redundant area. Boxes, baskets and pots will organise the contents and keep them tidy.
