CONNECTING AN ECOSYSTEM
Bluetooth is underpinned by a complex web of radio signals
1 SLAVE
The device which receives the Bluetooth signal is called the ‘slave’.
2 SYNCHRONISATION
The two Bluetooth devices have to match each other’s radio frequency to communicate.
3 MASTER
The device which initiates a Bluetooth connection with another is called the ‘master’.
4 PICONET
This tiny network contains a minimum of two devices. When two piconets are connected by a device, it’s called a scatternet.
5 RADIO SIGNAL
Low-powered radio signals are sent and received.
6 BUILT-IN CHIPS
A Bluetooth-enabled device includes a chip to send and receive signals.
