ONLY SPIDERS HAVE EIGHT LEGS
14
It’s unclear why exactly spiders evolved to have eight legs. Perhaps the extra limbs assist them in living on a web or getting around in the wilderness. What scientists do know is that there are plenty of other animals that share this number of limbs. One of the characteristics of arachnids is having four pairs of legs. Within the class are tens of thousands of different non-spider species, all with eight legs.
