Dabill is the star at Falcon charity trial

-

Sam Rhodes, just missing out on a top five finish, Oliver Fortune making a return to trials following a season of Hare and Hounds racing and finally road racer Tom Tunstall, back on a trials bike for the first time since the national Jack Wood trial back in March.

On the Easy Course the final result was a close scrap between friends and rivals, Chris Greenwood and Nick Eagleton with Greenwood just doing enough to secure the win by just a single mark.

Rounding out the top three was Barnsley’s Dean Lunn a few marks further adrift of the leading duo. Section two also caused problems for all, featuring sloping rock slabs and tight turns which got more difficult as the event progressed as mud got pulled onto the smooth rock surface.

Greenwood was the only one to master this on every lap, Eagleton was next on two with Jason Crossland close behind with a total of three. Crossland also got the award for the best fancy dress outfit, fully decked out as one of Santa’s little Elves, although to be fair he was probably one of the biggest little Elves ever seen! Best youth award went to Joshua Clegg who continues to improve and this time just missed out on a top three overall finish.

Falcons now take a short break before resuming next year when Horn Hill will again play host to the opening round of the 2017 club championship.

All in the club would like to extend their sincere thanks to James and Charles Smith of Ice Valley for sponsoring the event. James Dabill (Gas Gas) 0.
