BRIGHOUSE Sports Under 13s were big winners in the Macron Huddersfield Junior League.

They hammered Meltham 12-1 with Wall getting on the scoresheet four times for the hosts.

There was also a hat trick for Galtress, braces for Heavyside and Freibach and a goal from Kirkby.

The victory now means Brighouse sit just five points behind league leaders Pudsey.

Kirkburton Under 12s maintained their five-point lead at the top of Division Two with a dominant display as they overcame Upper Hopton Reds 9-2 at home.

Deighton are Kirkburton’s closest challengers but the leaders have a game in hand.

Fellow Under 12 Division Two side Leeds Juniors suffered a Cup upset in as they were narrowly edged out 2-1 by Brighouse Panthers of Division 4A.

The Panthers are unbeaten in Division 4A but there are 12 league places between themselves and Leeds.

Kirkheaton came out on top in a 13-goal thriller against Brighouse Blues in their Under 15 Division Three clash.

The hosts’ 9-4 victory helped them climb above their opponents and they are now four points clear of the relegation zone.

The highest goalscorers of the weekend were Westend Lions Under 13s, who beat Rastrick Raiders 17-0 in the Huddersfield FA Cup.

Queensbury Under 15s ran them close, putting 16 past Woodkirk Valley in the Cup.

There was also drama in the Under 15 Trophy as Pudsey and Hall Green United played out a 4-4 draw before Pudsey earned a 3-2 penalty victory.

Kirkburton Under 16s kept pressure on King Cross in Division Two as they got a 5-1 away victory over Rothwell B.

Kirkburton still trail King Cross by nine points but do have three games in hand and an almost identical goal difference.

In the Under 17 Cup, a high-scoring affair between YMCA B and Ossett Albion B got to extra-time at 5-5.

However, Ossett Albion dominated extra time and progressed to the next round of the Cup with an 8-5 victory.

Osset Albion B will now host YMCA’s A team in the semi-finals.

Clifton Rangers Under 16s went through to the next round of the Trophy with a 6-2 victory over Netherton, but it did take extra-time to settle the game.
