14 .............. GIANTS a Giants fightback!

-

Giants had to score first in the second period to stand any chance of a comeback.

And after improved defence repelled further Saints’ raids, they finally found a way through at the other end.

Winger Murphy was held up initially before Giants directed their focus to the home left flank where McIntosh latched onto Gaskell’s pass to scramble over the line.

And while Brough failed with his touchline conversion attempt, Huddersfield stayed camped in Saints territory.

Excellent kick chase pressure after Brough’s ‘bomb’ trapped full-back Jonny Lomax behind his own line.

Brough was trying his heart out to turn things round and nine minutes from time he forced the error that brought Huddersfield back into contention.

Fages, the earlier hero, fumbled the former Man of Steel’s grubber kick behind his own posts. And before he could re-gather, McIntosh nipped in for a try Brough this time converted.

Another McIntosh raid created a fleeting chance for Murphy before Brough kicked to the corner and Wood dived over.
