Black belt awards for Lockwood Taekwondo quartet
Royds Hall Printing Trophy winners Woodfield Park A (from left) Frazer Krischke, Mike Belk, Keith Skarz, League chairman Tim Dyson and Darren Lindley STUDENTS from the Total Martial Arts School in Lockwood have achieved a milestone in their Martial Arts training by achieving their first degree black belts in Taekwondo.
John Hirst has been training for four and a half years competing in numerous competitions.
Father and daughter Shaun and Amelia Dawson have also been training for more than four years, with Amelia being successful on the competition circuit taking multiple first and second places.
Black belt instructor Karen Shore has been training with TTMAS for nearly eight years and was successful in achieving her third degree black belt at the same grading held in front of a panel of senior instructors in Doncaster.
The grading covered Taekwondo basics, patterns, footwork, boxing, kicking, sparring, self defence and board breaking.
Korean terminology, history and theory work also had to be completed.
