Students honoured for supporting Forget Me Not hospice
STUDENTS have been honoured for their efforts in raising funds to help seriously ill children.
The Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice supports youngsters with lifeshortening conditions and their families, both at its Brackenhall-based hospice and via their Hospice at Home service.
The charity wanted to formally recognise the fundraising efforts of students and staff from Huddersfield New College.
They have staged numerous fundraising events throughout the year.
These include the International Women’s Day celebrations, National AntiBullying Week and the Christmas fair.
The college’s assistant principal Zoe Shackleton and equality and diversity manager Erika Montgomery were invited to visit the hospice.
During their visit, a new glass plaque located in the Celebration Wall was unveiled.
The plaque carries the inscription: “Huddersfield New College: A gift for you.”
Erika commented: “It was a privilege to learn more about the pioneering and inspirational work undertaken by the hospice.
“We are extremely proud of our students and staff and their collective fundraising efforts.”
The Salendine Nookbased college raises money for a range of local charities.
It is continuing to support fundraising for the hospice.
