Harris has the edge in cup victory

-

man out, the Holme Valley side had 49 on the board.

Once Owen Kenworthy had then gone for 10, Harris took charge of the innings and, when he retired with his half century, he had seven boundaries,

West (11) and Daniel Hinchliffe (12) added double figures down the order to take Honley past 150 in 38.2 overs.

Three Kirkburton bowlers – Ben Carrington (2-29), Jack Byrne (2-22) and Adam Green (2-29) – had two wickets apiece while Kiran Green had one for 21 in his six overs and Anesh Tahir one for 14 in three.

Aaron Moore conceded 29 from his eight overs, the same as Carrington and Adam Green.

Opener Kiran Green put Kirkburton in the hunt with three boundaries in his 21 and they were 43-2 when he was out.

There were solid scores in the Kirkburton middle order from Joe Lockwood (13), Sam Schofield (17 including three boundaries), Aaron Moore (21 including three boundaries) and Jack Byrne (24 including four fours), but they slipped from 85-3 at one point to 104-7.

That left the lower order with a bit too much to do and, when Byrne was ninth out at 124, Honley struck shortly afterwards to take the win.
