The big-hitting 28-year-old is due to begin his stint with Sunday’s clash against Essex and play until the game against Surrey on August 4.

Miller joins compatriot Colin Ingram at the Welsh county, having previously represented Yorkshire and Durham in the competition.

“We are delighted to sign David Miller for a six-game stint,” said Hugh Morris, Glamorgan’s chief executive.

“David is a fine batsman, with a wealth of experience in T20 cricket.” The Mixed Doubles final at the Huddersfield Open sponsored by Fruity Pot was a home shoo-in. From left: runners up Lucy Margetson and Matt Wren and winners Phoebe Suthers and Harry Boothby Doubles, defeating Ben Nicholl and Josh Banks 4-6 6-2 10-7.

The 14s Boys crown went to No1 seed James Griffin from Northern, who beat Tom Horsley 6-1 7-5.

Thongsbridge player Emily Young was a winner in the Ladies Doubles with partner Rebecca Turnbull of Rawdon.

And there is local interest in the Men’s Doubles final tonight, where Thongsbridge’s Andrew Atkinson and partner James Keighley take on No1 seeds Pete Ashley and Jordan Reed-Thomas.
