Harry looking set to make Rhinos history

Teenage full-back Jack Walker has rejected the offer of a full-time contract with Leeds after failing to receive assurances from the club, the Rhinos have revealed.

The 17-year-old has made a big impression this year deputising for injured duo Ashton Golding and Liam Sutcliffe and scored the matchwinning try in last Friday’s 10-7 Super League win over Hull.

The Rhinos were keen to tie their academy product to a three-year deal and got the club’s senior players to try to persuade him to sign up but say they rejected his demands to play full-back. ■■London Broncos have signed forward Sam Wilde on loan from Warrington for the rest of the season.

The Broncos made their move for the 21-year-old second rower ahead of today’s transfer deadline, ensuring he can play in the Super 8s Qualifiers.

London coach Andrew Henderson said: “Sam joins us at an important time of the season and will give us much-needed cover in the back row.

“He has gained some big game Super League experience already for a young player, which could prove valuable to us in our push for promotion.”

Wilde was in Warrington’s starting line-up for last October’s Grand Final but has made only three substitute appearances this year and spent a month on loan to Widnes.
