Colcombe won the contest over two rounds with a gross score of 144, after rounds of 76 and 68, one shot ahead of Meltham’s Josh McAspurn and three better than third-placed Isaac Turner of Woodsome Hall.
There was a reward for teenager Turner, however, whose score of 147 after rounds of 75 and 72 was enough to earn the Jubilee Trophy a leading junior.
Colcombe will now have a bye in the first round of the Union Individual Matchplay Championship at Woodsome Hall on Sunday, August 13. 1St Matthew Colcombe (Longley Park) 76-68=144, 2nd Josh Mcaspurn (Meltham) 73-72=145, 3rd Ig Turner (Woodsome Hall) 75-72=147 Rob Dunleavy (Meltham) 73 Isaac Nicholl (Crow Nest) 70 Ig Turner (Woodsome Hall) 75=72=147 Matthew Colcombe (Longley Park, scratch) 76+68 Josh Mcaspurn (Meltham, 2) 73+72 IG Turner (Woodsome Hall, 2) 75+72, Daniel Hartley (Dewsbury District, 1) 74+73, C Gaunt (Dewsbury District, 2) 74+73, Rob Dunleavy (Meltham, 4) 73+74
