IT’S the pinnacle of team bowling in Yorkshire this coming Sunday as Lindley Bowling Club provides the setting for the 125th Yorkshire Cup final.

And it’s an all-Huddersfield clash between Thongsbridge and Crosland Moor.

Thongsbridge are the red-hot favourites as they look to secure their first piece of silverware of the season and keep on track for an unprecedented treble of honours across the Huddersfield and Mirfield leagues.

For the underdogs Crosland Moor (receiving 40.5 start on the handicap), it’s their first final appearance in over 40 years as they look to emulate their Yorkshire Cup-winning side of 1974 and make their own piece of history against a Holme Valley club who were winners in 2011, 2012 and 2014.

Play gets under way at 2.30pm and there is ample car parking both in the club car park and in adjacent streets.

The bar will be open and food will be available from the kitchen, so supporters are very welcome.

The teams, naturally, feature a host of county bowlers and big-competition winners.

Thongsbridge are captained by Chris Kelly, while Crosland Moor are captained by reserve Trevor Boothroyd.

The other Crosland Moor reserves are Guy Beaumont, Nathan Webster and Liam Fallas, while Thongsbridge reserves are Nicky White, Mike Anderson, Keith Damms and Andrew Davison.

British Crown Green dresscode for all players in the final. Lindley BC is at Daisy Lea Lane (HD3 3LP).
