Flagship building to get major makeover

The Cleckheato­n-based modular constructi­on company has named Marcus Sutcliffe as managing director and promoted former senior quantity surveyor Jason Bowker to commercial manager. The promotions come as Elite prepares to relocate its 30 staff from its Westgate site to a new purpose-built 18,700sq ft factory in the town next year.

Mr Sutcliffe said: “We have invested significan­tly in the business in the past few years, expanding our current factory then taking the decision to move to new facilities in the near future and, more recently, redevelopi­ng our website. I’m very confident in the team we have built at Elite, and Jason and I are well-placed to drive further growth for the company.”

Mr Sutcliffe now has overall responsibi­lity for the direction of the business, while Jason will work alongside him sourcing new business leads and taking the lead on marketing, supervisin­g contracts and monitoring pricing and costs.

Mr Bowker said: “I am happy to have been promoted and relish the prospect of the new challenge.” from a revamped reception area and team breakout room.

Towngate marketing manager Julia Ford said: “The HQ makeover has been in the pipeline for a while, but with our growing site portfolio and influx of new tenants across our estates, our priority has naturally HOUSE developer SB Homes has been named the latest winner of law firm Eaton Smith’s Business of the Month Award.

The award was presented to Amy and Sophie Byram by Mike Webb at Eaton Smith’s offices in High Street, Huddersfie­ld.

The team at Marsden-based SB Homes have been designing and developing bespoke new houses through the Colne Valley for more than 20 years. Its current developmen­t is Empire Works, a mixture of 70 two, three and four-bedroomed homes in Slaithwait­e.

Deborah Melluish, partner at Eaton Smith and a member of the judging panel, said: “SB Homes submitted a very impressive applicatio­n which clearly demonstrat­ed their passion for not only their business, but also for the community in which they operate. been our clients’ spaces. Our own project has therefore taken a while to get off the ground.

“However, Woodvale House itself is an extension of our own branding, so whilst we’ve largely focused our time and energy on developing properties elsewhere up until now,

“Furthermor­e, they have developed an intelligen­t business strategy which meant they were able to continue operating during the downturn in the housing market. The judging panel therefore felt that SB Homes was a worthy winner of the Business of the Month Award.”

Stephen Byram, managing director of SB Homes, said: “We’re delighted to have been chosen as Eaton Smith’s Business of the Month. As a company, we’re committed to the areas that we develop in and take a lot of care to create bespoke properties that have soul and character. We’re therefore really proud to be recognised for this approach!”

The Business of the Month Award has been running since 1995. All monthly winners are entered into the Business of the Year Award which takes place in July. investing some care and attention into our own premises is long overdue.

“All last-minute design decisions have now been ironed out and we will be excited to see the final result after months of planning and preparatio­n.”

Towngate shares Woodvale House with structural engineerin­g tenant JNP Group and new leaseholde­r Digital High Street.

All occupants will remain on-site throughout the renovation, which is expected to be completed in midSeptemb­er.

The refurbishm­ent closely follows the announceme­nt of four new occupancie­s across the firm’s Leeds sites. Preparatio­ns are also under way for the unveiling of its newly renovated Olympia Trading Estate units in Leeds in early September.
