CELEBRITY 5 GO BARGING Channel 5, 8pm

ALL aboard for some argy-bargy. Well at least, we’ll all be hoping for some bickering to entertain us on this 4mph journey down a canal.

This reality show with the silly title, that feels like it’s been conjured up by producers in the pub, has achieved the seemingly impossible – a second series.

This time the actor Tom Conti (of Shirley Valentine fame) is joined by gardener Diarmuid Gavin, Olympic athlete Tessa Sanderson, singer Tony Christie and presenter Penny Smith.

And in another plot twist, they will be enjoying life in the slow lanes of France’s idyllic waterways. But the bonhomie may not last in cramped living quarters.

A surprisingly entertaining trip.

HITS, HYPE & HUSTLE: AN INSIDER’S GUIDE TO THE MUSIC BUSINESS BBC4, 10pm

THE behind-the-scenes exploration of the music industry concludes with a look at why so many bands are choosing to get back together – and why it’s changing the business.

PR legend Alan Edwards suggests the phenomenon began more than 40 years ago with a rock ‘n’ roll revival show at Wembley Stadium that convinced promoters there was big money in nostalgia. He also hears from members of bands who decided to get back together, including Blondie, the Sex Pistols and Blur, and finds out why it’s increasingly possible for groups to get the benefits of a reunion without actually having to share a stage, thanks to the ‘jukebox’ West End musicals.
