Hirst and Cousen are top of the pots

Snooker League – where matches were severely curtailed by the bad weather – when he compiled a 48 break against Mohammed Saeed of Crosland Moor Con D.

Cousen had the best of five breaks recorded over 25 in the Billiards League, posting a 45 and also a 30 against Steven Rhodes of Upper Hopton A.

In the Open Snooker, Dean Poutney of Lower Hopton had a 25, Andrew Holding of Lindley Lib B made a 27, Conrad Norcliffe of Lower Hopton recorded a 31 and Jack Kitson of Golcar Con A made a 33.

The Billiards matches featured Frank Griffin of Moldgreen Lib making a 29, Tony O’Hara of Marsh Lib A a 33 and David Tully of Lindley Lib a 36.

Would all clubs take note there is a League meeting at Lindley Liberal Club on Monday, starting at 7.30pm.

Failure to attend will result in points being deducted for all applicable teams. BROCKHOLES BC player Matthew Peaker was the in-form player in the Huddersfie­ld Sunday School Billiards League, registerin­g a number of big breaks.

Playing against New North Road B player Greg Leach and giving away 150 points start on handicap, Peaker knocked in breaks of 68 and 59 to run out winner 200-123.

Playing at home against Gilbert Thomas, Peaker (below) recorded two breaks over the half century mark, a 50 and a 54, to help him run out a 200-174 winner.

Playing away against Paddock Con player Dougie Heathcote and giving away 225 points start on handicap, Peaker registered four breaks in the 30s to help him win 200-169.

David Peaker was another player who topped the half century mark.

His break of 51 along with 43 and 42 helped him to a 200-182 win over New North Road A player Chris Bintcliffe, after giving away 220 points start on handicap.

Peaker also made breaks of 47 and 45 in his 200-182 win over New North Road B player Roger Singleton, this time giving away 205 points start on handicap.

Other recorded breaks came from Rastrick New Road player Chris Evans, who made a 33, and Paddock Con players Tim Whitehouse and Ben Whitehouse, who made breaks of 33, 29 and 25.
