Our football team who receive untold millions from the various incomes that football raises and, we are told, bring nothing but good to the town, takes £350,000 in costs from the policing budget.

One would assume that may be worth a good few policemen or Police Community Support Officers on the beat.

I am well aware of the court case won by Leeds United in this matter some years ago but, as Town are awash with money, you would think that they could see their way to setting that amount of cost for policing, rather than having it fall on council tax payers’ heads. worthwhile cause.

I could not do this each year without the wonderful help I get from my family and friends.

Thanks again. ON June 24 I was out with family having a meal in Honley when we witnessed someone taking items from the Kirkwood Hospice charity shop.

They took at least five bags full. It is appalling in this day and age how and why people do this. RE the stories about flytipping.

What does Kirklees expect? When you take rubbish to the tip you are bombarded with negatives - no turf, no soil, no ceramics, no plaster board, no asbestos, no rubble and probably plenty more.

How about giving information with regard where you can take rubbish that is not allowed?

With regard to renewing your tip permit - it took me about two hours to get that ‘sorted’ as I can only assume that the programme was not working correctly.

Well done Kirklees!
