Robbery near police HQ

A MAN robbed of cash by two men on Castlegate in Huddersfie­ld town centre ran straight to the nearby police station.

West Yorkshire Police is now appealing for informatio­n to try to catch the two wanted men.

The robbery happened on Sunday, October 21 at around 5.40pm when the victim, in his 20s, was walking along New Street.

He was approached by two men who started to talk to him.

As they crossed the ring road at Castlegate, the two suspects grabbed the victim and demanded he empty his pockets.

He handed over some money and then managed to run away from them and went straight to the police station to report the incident.

The first suspect is described as a white man, in his mid-30s, 6ft and of a large build.

He was wearing a blue woolly hat and a blue Slazenger tracksuit.

The second suspect is described as a white male, in his late 30s. He was wearing a black baseball cap and had a ‘gaunt’ face.
