Woman trapped in two-car crash goes to hospi­tal

A WOMAN was taken to hospi­tal after she was re­leased from her dam­aged car by fire crews.

Two fire en­gines from Hud­der­s­field fire sta­tion at­tended the col­li­sion in­volv­ing two cars on Black­moor­foot Road at Crosland Moor on Wed­nes­day night.

The in­ci­dent hap­pened at around 9.40pm near to the junc­tion with Park Road and Park Road West, near Park Road Fish­eries.

The in­jured woman, who is in her 50s, was trapped in her car and had to be res­cued by fire­fight­ers.

Fire crews re­moved the car’s roof dur­ing the res­cue op­er­a­tion.

A spokesman for West York­shire Fire & Res­cue Ser­vice said the woman was taken to hospi­tal by am­bu­lance.

There was no in­for­ma­tion on the ex­tent of the woman’s in­juries. One of the cars in­volved is be­lieved to be a Ford Ka.

West York­shire Po­lice of­fi­cers and York­shire Am­bu­lance Ser­vice paramedics also at­tended the in­ci­dent.
