OWER-BOATING across Lake Constance in the blazing heat with a bottle of Prosecco to hand is a memory that will stay with me for ever.

It’s not just the beautiful, calm water, ski seasons or water sports - Lake Constance has so much more to offer.

Sitting astride the borders of Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the lake boasts stunning scenery, captivating culture and a wide range of activities for all to enjoy.

Our trip started from Friedrichshafen airport, an historical centre of aeronautic travel, from where the first passenger Zeppelins embarked in the early 20th century.

And the history is reflected in the Zeppelin floating overhead, looking down upon the city.

A quick stop-over in Frankfurt from Manchester and we were on the German side of Lake Constance, where we were immediately immersed in he world of hops and, of course, beer.
