Man dies in lorry crash

A MAN in his 30s has died after he was involved in a crash with a HGV in the early hours of yesterday.

The man was driving a silver Vauxhall Vectra in the A647 Queensbury Road, Halifax, at around 1am.

He was travelling from Halifax towards Queensbury when he collided with a Mercedes Actros HGV driving in the opposite direction.

West Yorkshire Police later confirmed the Vectra driver has died as a result of his injuries.

The force has issued an appeal for anyone who witnessed the crash or has any information which may help their investigations to contact them on the non emergency number 101, quoting log *68 of December 14.

The road was closed for several hours yesterday morning following the incident.
