Depoitre looking for an old pals axe at Liverpool

LIVERPOOL are set to make changes against Huddersfield Town tomorrow - and a mate of Laurent Depoitre could lead the Anfield attack.

Title-chasing boss Jurgen Klopp looks likely to turn to Divock Origi to spearhead his attack in the vital Premier League match.

The 24-year-old Belgian is an international team-mate of Depoitre - they were in the squad together for the European qualifiers in 2015 - and he seems certain to take the place of Roberto Firmino.

Klopp, of course, is trying to keep an eye on the Champions League semi-final meeting with Barcelona next week while also steering Liverpool towards domestic honours.

It is also suggested on Merseyside that Jordan Henderson is likely to be rested, with James Milner returning to the starting line-up.

Meanwhile, Mo Salah has been in the USA ahead of the game.

He posted a picture on Tuesday evening of himself at a pizza restaurant in New York City.

Salah’s latest post left Reds supporters bewildered over why he had possibly gone to a time zone five hours behind the one he is likely due to play football in just days later.

However, the mystery has been solved - he is over in New York for the Time Magazine Top 100 Most Influential People gala.

Klopp hailed Salah as the perfect role model last week after the Liverpool attacker was named as one of the world’s most influential people.

The Egypt international features on the cover of the current issue of TIME magazine - a mark of the huge impact he’s had both on and off the field.

“He’s in the middle of the dressing room, he’s sensationally good with all the boys and he is very influential for us,” Klopp said.

“And if somebody thinks he is influential for the rest of the world as well then good, show it.

“I don’t know exactly when the meeting will be (with TIME magazine) but he will go there because it’s an important statement for the world.”

Huddersfield face Liverpool at Anfield tomorrow night (8pm).
