Driver should face the courts – not anonymity

-

About time people started to take their rubbish home and more fines being dealt out and to respect what nature and green spaces we have out there. I AM at a loss as to why the Crown Prosecution Service has refused to prosecute the driver involved in the death of Katelyn Dawson.

It states there is evidence of dangerous driving but it is not in the public interests to prosecute.

I’m sorry, but of course it is in the public interest. A bunch of solicitors sat in an office should not be making decisions in such serious cases.

Their job should be to put it before a judge and jury and allow legal arguments to take place. It should be for the Courts to decide.

The defence put forward should be scrutinised in court, not in a solicitor’s office.

It is in the public interest to ensure such defences are challenged.

Another excuse being there was no safe place after the lights for the driver to pull in. If he hadn’t been driving dangerously there are plenty of safe places to pull over, indeed, the safest option would have been to brake and stop in the middle of the road.

A child’s life has been lost and two have had their lives changed. If the CPS is not prepared to revoke its decision, perhaps a private prosecution may be the answer.

I’m sure a crowd funding page would pay the costs. IT’S interesting to see that Kirklees Council has changed its mind about the road changes in Holmfirth.

One reason says Councillor McBride is public opinion. To quote him : “If the public says they don’t want it you cannot fly in the face of public opinion.”

So why did the same principle not apply to the bus gates in Huddersfield which have been widely condemned by public opinion and by the town’s shop keepers?

Will it apply to the wide condemnation of the changes to the parking meters in the Market Hall car park?

It always seems to be a case of what suits the Council and not what is simple for the shopper to use and the result is that people I WENT to Huddersfield the other day to buy my wife a birthday present. I parked in the Market Hall car park, but when I got to the ticket machine the coin slot was blocked off and it would only take credit cards.

So I went to do my shopping in Wakefield where they recognise British currency. JUST to re-enter the Castle Hill debate.

Surely I’m not alone in lumping it with the old sports centre, Leeds Road Ski Slope, the old tech, the old Co-op, the Piazza, the market, the pub that was The Zetland, Newsome Mills etc.

I would imagine the Council doesn’t have the final say in all of these, but I think most people’s view would be ‘stop faffing about and get on’.

Perhaps most important is the Kingsgate Centre – me and a load of old duffers are hoping to slide down the side of it before we die! READING the article Danger Cabs Uncovered (

it would be interesting to know how many Hackney carriage and private hire drivers licensed in Kirklees are using their vehicles without a valid M.O.T certificate? SO Boris J says the buck stops here, he will give us the Brexit we want!

I will laugh if this lunatic turns out to be the answer to all the recent problems.
