Stoke up BBQ, we’re due some Spanish sunshine

-

ENJOY Huddersfield’s last BBQ weekend as Spanish air brings warm weather rivalling Barcelona.

Don’t pack the sun hats and garden furniture away just yet as forecasters predict temperatures will climb towards the end of the week.

Huddersfield will be basking in temperatures as warm as Spain by this weekend, according to weather forecasters.

Examiner weatherman Paul Stevens predicted temperatures would be rivalling Mediterranean climates by this weekend, as southerly winds continued to flow.

And he advised Huddersfield people to enjoy one last weekend of summer before the weather changes next week, bringing more unsettled conditions.

Paul said: “This week, it’s going to be nice. It’s not going to break any records, but it is very pleasant for mid-September.

“With southerly winds from Spain, we should be seeing temperatures climb and reach 21C or 22C by Friday and Saturday.

“On Sunday, it will still feel warm but there’ll be a chance of thundery showers in the afternoon.

“So, make the most of being outdoors and get all your work done in the garden. Plan for your last barbecue on Saturday, although you’ll need a jumper if you’re sitting out after 7pm because it’ll be getting darker and cooler.”

The Weather Channel also echoed his predictions, predicting temperatures would reach 20C on Thursday, with sunshine and a few clouds.

On Friday, there’s sunshine all day, feeling warmer at 21C, and the weather was set to continue until Saturday, when temperatures would reach 22C.

On Sunday showers are forecast, with temperatures sticking around 19C, before turning wetter into next week.

Paul added: “It’s going to be more unsettled next week, with wet, windy and mild conditions. There could even be gales from the Atlantic moving in towards the end of next week with a few old hurricanes hanging around.

“So make the most of this weekend because it’s going to turn much wetter and windier next week.”
