Award for fuel poverty project
ELLAND firm, YES Energy Solutions, was named winner of Project Management Company of the Year at the National Energy Efficiency Awards in Birmingham.
The community interest company was recognised for its management of multiple energy efficiency schemes that provide funding for vulnerable customers in fuel poverty for the installation of A-rated boilers and insulation.
YES Energy Solutions delivered 33 schemes on behalf of a range of organisations which include councils, housing associations and charities that span Great Britain.
Throughout last year the company improved the warmth and comfort of 5,181 homes which made savings on energy bills that total more than £58million.
The projects recognised with the award include the Better Homes Yorkshire scheme, the Connecting Homes for Health scheme in Durham, and the North Yorkshire County Council
Warm Homes Fund. YES Energy Solutions’ Katie Baker, from Golcar, achieved second place in the business development manager category repeating the same accolade from the 2018 awards.
Representatives from YES Energy Solutions were presented with the award by television actor James Nesbitt OBE at the Birmingham VOX Venue.
The National Energy Efficiency Awards celebrate success in the energy efficiency industry, and recognise innovation and success in helping people in fuel poverty while reducing CO2 emissions. Katie said: “We are immensely proud of all of our projects and receiving recognition for our work is very special indeed, credit has to go to our hard working teams.
“I was amazed that I was awarded with second place as there is so many great individuals working in our industry.”
The accolade follows previous success at the Energy Efficiency Awards for YES Energy Solutions in which the company won Funding Provider of the Year in 2018 and 2017.
