where it goes. I don’t think I’ve scored a better goal.”

Bacuna, who also set up a late goal for Karlan Grant, told how the Town frontmen are working hard off the field to build an understanding on it.

“We train all week with each other and we learn from each other and learn what each other want,” he said.

“That understanding all comes together in the game.

“I know if I get close to Karlan and I see he is free and I can play the ball behind defenders. I know he will run into space.

“We have good players up front who can create something. We combine well and understand each other. We create a lot chances.”

Back-to-back home victories over Bristol City and Charlton have lifted Town up the table and put them within eight points of the 50-point safety target set by boss Danny Cowley.

Bacuna said: “We showed the same intensity and the same power from the game on Tuesday and we backed up Tuesday’s result against Charlton. We did it as a team.”

Town go to Elland Road to face West Yorkshire rivals Leeds United on Saturday and the players are relishing the challenge.

Leeds have won four on the bounce and are just a point behind leaders West Brom but Bacuna said: “We want to play every game like we did against Charlton and Bristol.

“It’s a big game and we will do everything we can to get the three points.

“We have had two games that we have won now. Let’s keep the run going and train hard this week and make it a good performance. The spirit of the team is good now.”

Bacuna sported a fetching dyed pink hairstyle on Saturday - and revealed when he changes his hair colour he scores!

Asked why he’d chosen the shocking pink shade, he said: “I have done every colour already and like pink! Pink suits me and I thought ‘why not?’

“Most times when I do another colour I score and I’ve scored again!

“I go to the barber and when I go to the hairdresser I have a think and pick a different colour.”

The pink won’t stay for long, however. And Bacuna revealed his colour choice for Elland Road.

“Next week it’s blue and white,” he said.

I saw the space and thought, yes I will shoot. I don’t think I’ve
