AROUND the globe we are facing something that none of us have ever experienced before.

This current crisis is having an immeasurable impact on normal life including for businesses right here across Kirklees.

We understand it is a worrying time as many face an uncertain future. However, our message is clear – we are all in this together.

Reach PLC, the parent company of the Examiner and its sister website YorkshireLive, has launched a new initiative to support the county’s business community throughout the COVID-19 crisis.

It centres on a public declaration to local businesses that we will do our utmost to support them through this difficult time.

#ThereWithYou is a promise that we are here to support local businesses with a raft of free products and solutions they can use to combat the challenges they face.

They include the creation of free promotional videos and website landing pages, plus complimentary creative and consultancy services.

The Examiner and YorkshireLive can be a powerful force for good in helping businesses through the difficult times ahead.

Reach’s media portfolio includes the Daily Mirror and the Daily Express, more than 32 regional daily titles, and 96 weeklies - as well as 65 news websites.

Those news titles are viewed by more than 47m people every month.

This support package has been designed to meet the needs of all businesses, regardless of industry and location, and is supplemented by a range of discounted packaged solutions comprising social media advertising, print advertising, and content marketing.

Examiner editor Wayne Ankers said: “We are all facing unprecedented times and the months ahead will be extremely challenging.

“As this disease has spread our team has been at the heart of keeping communities informed and upto-date as measures have been brought in to stem the outbreak.

“It has already had a significant effect on our communities and businesses. But we just want everyone to know that we are here to support you.

“We have set up an online directory for volunteers who are wanting to help others and we want to help all residents and businesses get back on their feet after this has passed.

“There is no doubt it will change lives. But the one thing that Huddersfield has above all is community spirit and fight. We need that more than ever now and we will get through this together. We have also had to adapt, so we understand how challenging it is.”

Tom Harte, sales director for the north west, added: “Our focus is on our local businesses and supporting them at this time with #ThereWithYou.

“Our teams are on call to help our business communities and in times like this then our content channels such as YorkshireLive are talking to the communities more than ever.

“I would encourage any business to speak to one of our team so we can share experiences and the support opportunities we have at this time.” So, help us to help you.
