season with Jordan Pickford as No.1 and Lossl and Joao Virginia as back-ups.

Town have already held positive talks with the Goodison Park club about extending Lossl’s loan through to the scheduled new end of the season on July 22, and he is in prime position to start against Wigan Athletic on Saturday.

Lossl took a big pay cut to come on loan to Town and his popularity with the Terriers’ support will only be enhanced if he helps to secure Championship safety.

The prospect of playing for Town again came about after first choice, Liverpool loan man Kamil Grabara, was carried off injured during the 2-1 victory at Hull City. It’s highly unlikely Town will have to look beyond Lossl during the Championship run-in.

But Cowley could well have a choice to make on the bench. Because only five loan players can be included in a matchday squad, it could be that Coleman gets the nod on the bench and Grabara has to sit it out.

Should there be any problems, then Grabara could play and
