Defender understands Cowley’s frustrations
HUDDERSFIELD Town left-back Harry Toffolo knows Danny Cowley better than anyone else in the squad having also previously worked with him at Lincoln, and he is determined that the players will repay the manager’s trust in the side after the Terriers’ 2-0 defeat at home to Wigan Athletic.
Cowley admitted the performance was far from good enough after Town mustered just one shot on target despite having 70 per cent of the possession, with Wigan twice catching the Terriers on the break.
That left Cowley cutting a disconsolate figure after the game, with results elsewhere meaning Town are now just one point ahead of Hull City in the bottom three.

Toffolo told BBC Radio Leeds: “Danny is frustrated because he knows the potential we have in this group and we didn’t give it him.
“He can do all the build-up he wants but if we don’t go out there and give him what we can do there’s nothing much more he can do.
“It’s tough but we are fully confident and that’s me coming as one of the players who has only been here 11 games now - we are totally confident we can keep Huddersfield up.
“We’ve got the people within the dressing room, we’ve got players coming back from injury that are going to be key players for us.
“I just want to reassure the fans that I understand and respect it’s a very difficult time for the football club at the minute, but we are giving our all, I promise you that, and we will get ourselves out of this predicament.”
