WEST YORKS FORCE ADVERTISE FOR NEW ASSISTANT CHIEF CONSTABLE
WEST Yorkshire Police are recruiting a new assistant chief.
The force is advertising for a new assistant chief officer to deal with funding challenges which West Yorkshire Police are expected to face in the next few years.
Other duties of the job, which pays £105,600 a year, include ‘further enhanc(ing) West Yorkshire Police’s reputation as a progressive organisation deeply committed to the communities we serve and the wellbeing of our staff.’
The job advert, written by West Yorkshire Chief Constable John Robins, says: “You will work as part of the Chief Officer Team to deliver on the Police and Crime Commissioner’s plan to ensure our communities are safer and feel safer.”
It adds dealing with funding issues will be a key part of the role.
Mr Robins adds: “Current challenges include the ongoing Government spending review and the financial challenges which are forecast for the organisation over the next few years...
“My assistant chief officer will play a key role in providing professional financial advice and budget management to the chief officer team in support of the force’s strategic objectives. They will also advise on force initiatives to achieve value for money and improved efficiency to ensure that the force provides best value policing to the communities of West Yorkshire.”
To meet the job requirements, candidates will need to have ‘an engaging leadership style possessing the passion and drive to meet fast-paced, highly complex and stimulating policing challenges.’
