Corberan is pleased with Bac’s focus
tonight as Town look to bounce straight back when they host Blackburn at the John Smith’s Stadium.
Bacuna is a frustrating figure for many fans, while although he is talented, he doesn’t always show his true ability on the pitch.
But Town boss Corberan says he has seen an improvement in recent weeks in the work he is doing.
“It’s not something for me that’s subjective,” said Corberan. “We analyse for example the GPS values because the GPS values can give us a lot of things - not if the player played well or played bad, but you can see the level of energy, the level of effort.
“Of course from this effort you reflect this in some values.
“The values of Bacuna have been higher and I am watching a player who is focused to compete, which is exactly what is demanded – to be very competitive, especially in the middle of the pitch.”
Corberan could stick with Ryan Schofield in goal tonight even though Ben Hamer is now fit to return.
And the Town boss says having two quality keepers is a bonus for him - not a problem.
He said: “Always when you concede some goals you can put it on the keeper, but for me it was not only the keeper.
“From the defensive point of view every player involved in this action needs to find a better solution.
“We need to think about this decision because we know the performances of Ben Hamer were good performances and we know that the performance of Ryan Schofield was a good performance too. “Sometimes I don’t like to make the change in situation or in moments that you can lose the confidence of the keeper.
“For me, Schofield has been in good condition to give the right answer to the situations, at the same time Ben Hamer too.
“So for me when you have two goalkeepers in a good moment always your decision is going to be the right one.”
