TICKETS for this year’s Rugby League World Cup (RLWC2021) have officially gone on sale with just 200 days until the opening game.

And organisers say they are working with UK governing bodies to deliver a “restriction free tournament”.

General admission tickets can now be snapped up for any of the 61 fixtures across the men’s, women’s and wheelchair tournaments. All three are set to take place simultaneously in England for the first time.

The Rugby League World Cup will get under way on Saturday, October 23, when England Men take on Samoa Men.

A men’s quarter final game has been scheduled for the John Smith’s Stadium, in Huddersfield, on November 12.

Tickets for fixtures across the three tournaments could cost as little as £2.21, with more than 80 per cent of tickets priced below £50.

Demand for tickets is said to be high, with several fixtures close to being sold out already.

Jon Dutton, chief executive of RLWC2021, said: “This is a momentous day (Tuesday) for the tournament as general admission tickets go on sale to the public.

“Kirklees has a big part to play at RLWC2021, as the John Smith’s Stadium in Huddersfield will be the stage for one of our men’s quarter finals.

“The last year or so has been an incredibly challenging one for everyone, including fans deprived of seeing live events, and to be able to go on sale for what promises to be the biggest and best Rugby League World Cup in history is very exciting.

“The countdown is well and truly on, and fans from all of our incredible host cities can feel the excitement building, with general sale being the latest milestone passed on the road to RLWC2021.”

A spokesperson for RLWC2021 added: “Fans who have been starved of live sporting actions since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic have the opportunity to experience the pinnacle of Rugby League surrounded by full stadiums.

“RLWC2021 is working alongside

UK governing bodies to deliver a restriction free tournament.”

A ticket refund guarantee has been implemented for all games should any restrictions be placed on crowds at the tournament.

Fans will also be refunded if the event is cancelled. A three-week pause in sales will come into force on June 1 to allow for seat assignment. For full ticketing details, visit www.rlwc2021.com/tickets.
