‘Danger to women’ rape fiend jailed for 25 years
THUG LOCKED UP OVER NINE-YEAR CAMPAIGN OF VIOLENCE AGAINST TWO VICTIMS
A VIOLENT rapist who also physically attacked two women has been jailed for 25 years.
Tim Baker carried out a nineyear campaign of violence and controlling behaviour towards the two victims.
Baker, 31, had admitted separate driving offences but was found guilty of five rapes, three counts of coercive and controlling behaviour, two wounding offences and four counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm at Bradford Crown Court in March.
Baker, of Rosemary Close, Rastrick, has now been jailed for a quarter of a century by a judge who imposed an extended sentence at the same court.
He also served him with a restraining order and a Sexual Harm Prevention Order after branding him a “danger to women”.
Detective Inspector Simon Archer said: “Baker is a violent and controlling rapist who deserves to be in prison for a very long time.
“His victims have shown real bravery throughout the court process to see him rightfully brought to justice.
“I hope that the lengthy sentence helps to bring them some closure, so they can finally move forward with their lives.
“I would also like to recognise the dedication and tenacity of those involved in this investigation, which has once again highlighted their continued commitment to our communities. “I hope that this case serves as a timely reminder that anyone who has been the victim of sexual abuse should feel confident in coming forward and reporting it. We have specialist teams who will take you seriously, deal with your case confidentially, and do everything within our power to bring those responsible to justice.”
