“You want to prove a point that you are as good as these guys and that you can handle them.

“He is such a big name in rugby league.

“Jake Wardle going up against him in the centres, it is a great challenge for Jake, but also a great challenge for Greg because you have this young, up-and-coming centre here, who could be a future England and Great Britain international against somebody who has already been there and done it.

“It is going to be an interesting battle to see who will come out on top.

“But I am confident Jake will do his best and have a real go at him.”

Giants will also have to deal with facing 4,000 Warrington fans at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, and Watson admits it could take some getting used to for all the players.

“It’ll be great to have an atmosphere again because you want to play the games in front of large crowds. It will hopefully be a great spectacle,” he said.

“It will be interesting because the players have been used to playing without a crowd for the last year and a half, it has been too long.

“So having the crowd in will be a different feeling for the boys to get used to again.

“But it is something we are all relishing. It is what you want to do, play the game in front of supporters, play big games in front of large crowds.

“We all can’t wait to get fans back in.

“Players get driven at times by emotion, and when they haven’t had that crowd in the ground for this long, and now when you do something well, or if there is a high tackle, the crowd erupts - the players haven’t been used to

that.

“So it could have an impact on players. They just need to concentrate on their job and not get carried away by the noise of the crowd.
